The coroner's concerns

  1. 1. positional asphyxia from baby slings

“There appears to be a body of evidence that positional asphyxia can occur through use of baby slings. However, knowledge of this risk appears to be limited at present to academic circles and has not been widely researched.”
  2. 2. lack of public awareness of positional asphyxia risk from baby slings

“If there is currently sufficient evidence to raise this risk to parents, I am concerned that this information has not been publicised more widely.”
